R. Graham Reynolds

Graham Reynolds is an Associate Professor of Biology and Director of the University Honors Program at the University of North Carolina Asheville. He is also an Associate at the Harvard University Museum of Comparative Zoology, a National Geographic Explorer, and an Elected Fellow of the Explorers Club. 

Dr. Reynolds earned a BA in Biology from Duke University and a PhD at The University of Tennessee. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at UMass Boston and then at Harvard University prior to coming to UNC Asheville. His research focuses on vertebrate biology, conservation genetics, and new species discovery, especially on remote islands. He has published over 60 scientific papers and three books, and he volunteers with global wildlife conservation organizations including as a Red List Authority for the International Union for the Conservation of Nature. His work has been featured by the New York Times, Harvard Gazette, Discover Magazine, CNN, Newsweek, National Geographic, El Mundo, the BBC, Scientific American, and Smithsonian Magazine, among others.
