Not sure what a con is and don’t know how to ask? Never fear! Beer City Comic Con is here to assure you that our event is safe, inclusive, and most importantly, FUN!
Comic con is short for comic convention. These gatherings started as a way for comic book nerds to discuss their favorite characters and buy and sell books in safe, friendly environments. Like the comic industry itself, the conventions expanded to include industry experts and animators, media, cosplay (costume play), celebrities, and more. Essentially, if it’s geek-friendly, it’s probably got a home at a con.
At BCCC, we are expanding the breadth of what we think a con can be and incorporating educational panels where we’ll discuss philosophical and environmental matters related to comic book themes and the impact of superhero superpowers on gender identity in the modern age.

A SPECIAL KIND OF CON
What makes cons special to our community is the camaraderie, kindness, like-mindedness, and good-heartedness. You’ll see attendees dressed in full costume. (In fact, you may see 25 versions of Batman on the same day.) You’re likely to see celebrities and artists you admire. Cons are unique places where real life and fantasy life are allowed and encouraged to exist simultaneously.
